The second-best round of the entire Cav Classic allowed Ashland University's women's golf team to finish third at the two-day tournament in Canton, Ohio.
On Sunday (April 17), the Eagles shot a 303, shaving 21 strokes off their first-day total of 324. That allowed AU to move up two spots to finish third in the 15-team tournament at 627.
Grand Valley State won the team title at 606, followed by Findlay at 614.
Ashland boasted two players finishing in the top five on the individual leaderboard. Junior Kaitlin Neumann's 73 on Sunday left her with a two-day total of 150, placing her fourth in the field. Freshman Morgan Eib's second-day score of 74 put her in a tie for fifth at 153.
Ashland will turn its attention to the 2016 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, Friday-Sunday (April 22-24) in Allendale, Mich.
