Ashland Women’s Golf Team Adds Four For 2015-16

Ashland University women's golf head coach Kory Oslie has added four recruits – Morgan Eib, Olivia Jereb, Kayleigh McHugh and Monica Torda – for the 2015-16 school year.

"I am very ecstatic that Kayleigh, Monica, Morgan and Olivia have decided on continuing their education and golf careers at AU," Oslie said. "They have great work ethic and drive to continue their success in the classroom and on the course."

Eib is from Springboro High School. She is a four-time first-team Greater Western Ohio Conference South selection, a two-time member of the GWOC All-Conference team and a two-time team Most Valuable Player. In the 2014 state tournament, she shot a low round of 78.

In high school and tournament play, Eib has six victories, six second-place finishes and seven third-place finishes. Her career-low 18-hole round is 76, and her career-low 9-hole round is 36.

Eib is a member of National Honor Society, and has earned the Scholar Athlete Award all four years at Springboro.

Jereb, sister of current Eagle golfer Emily Jereb, preps at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin High School. She was an all-Ohio first-teamer in 2014 after finishing fifth individually at the state tournament (73-76—149). Jereb helped her team place third at state in 2014, and she was a three-year state qualifier.

She was the North Coast League Most Valuable Golfer in 2014, a three-time first-team all-Northeast Ohio selection and a four-time first-team News-Herald choice. Jereb also was NDCL's Most Valuable Golfer three times.

Jereb set the girls course record at Punderson State Park Golf Course (70), as well as the lowest-ever girls score on the North Coast Junior Golf Tour (65).

She is an Academic All-Ohio selection by the Ohio High School Golf Coaches Association, and has been a honor student all four years at NDCL.

McHugh was a four-year letter winner on Sylvania Northview High School's girls golf team. She was a team captain this fall, and her 2014 campaign included earning Northern Lakes League individual medalist (74) for the second year in a row, NLL first-team honors for the third year in a row, playing on an undefeated NLL squad, earning her first first-team all-district citation and qualifying for her first trip to the state tournament.

McHugh is a two-time NWOGGL Player of the Year, as well as a two-time team Most Valuable Golfer.

She earned NLL all-academic team honors as a senior, and is an OHSGCA Academic All-Ohio choice.

Torda prepped at St. Ursula Academy in Toledo. She was a first-team all-district and first-team all-Three Rivers Athletic Conference choice, and a three-time state tournament qualifier. Torda shot a 75 and finished second among 55 golfers in two 10-team events in 2014 (Riviera in Columbus and Bedford Hills in Michigan).

Torda took first place in the Toledo junior golf tournament at Maumee Bay Golf Course and at The Legacy Golf Course, and was tied for third in the Hurricane Junior Golf Tournament at Stone Ridge.
