Eagle Men No. 9 In Division II Entering GLIACs


In the last U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) outdoor rankings prior to the 2018 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships, Ashland University's men occupy the No. 9 spot in NCAA Division II.

As released by the USTFCCCA on Tuesday (May 1) afternoon, the Eagle men moved up one spot from a week ago. Ashland's men have steadily moved up in the rankings, from No. 21 in Week 3 to No. 17 in Week 4, No. 12 in Week 5, No. 10 in Week 6, and now No. 9.

Ashland's men have 10 marks which would qualify for 2018 NCAA Division II nationals, May 24-26 in Charlotte, N.C.

The Eagle men have been in the outdoor top 10 in the USTFCCCA rankings 63 times since the start of the 2010 season.

Ashland University's men's and women's outdoor track and field teams will play host to the 2018 GLIAC Championships, Wednesday-Friday (May 2-4) at the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex.
