Eagles Make Moves To Start Last-Chance Weekend


Two members of the No. 1-ranked Ashland University men's outdoor track and field team improved upon provisional nationals marks on Friday (May 12) at the Grand Valley State Next-To-Last Chance Meet.

Freshman Alex Hill moved to 54.53 meters/178-feet-11 in the men's discus throw, while sophomore Devin Snowden finished the men's 400-meter hurdles in 52.70 seconds.

Also on Friday at the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet at Baldwin-Wallace, junior Hannah Bartlome improved upon her previous provisional nationals mark in the women's high jump, going to 1.73 meters/5-feet-8.

On Thursday (May 11) at the North Central College Dr. Keeler Track & Field Meet, freshman Steven Kapes won the 10,000-meter run and improved upon his provisional time to 29:51.97. Also on Thursday at the last-chance meet at Hillsdale, the men's 4x400 relay team of Snowden, senior Columbus Millet, freshman Paul Murray and sophomore Myles Pringle earned a new provisional time of 3:13.06.
