Ashland University junior Maura Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio) has been named the GLIAC female swimmer of the week. The award was announced by the league office on Nov. 15. This is the second time this season Anderson has received the award.
Anderson won the 100 breaststroke last Saturday (Nov. 13) against Lake Erie. Her time - 1:04.73 - was a pool record and a team record. Anderson was part of two winning relays in the matchup with the Storm - the 200 medley (1:47.45) and the 400 free (3:39.17). Ashland defeated Lake Erie, 156-104.
Earlier this year, Anderson was also named the national female swimmer of the week by the College Swimming Coaches of America.
The AU women's swimming and diving team is ranked second in the country.
