Ashland University swimmer Maura Anderson (Lakewood, Ohio) has been named the NCAA Division II female swimmer of the week by CollegeSwimming.com. The national award is based on Anderson's performance last week in meets with Findlay, Hillsdale and Wayne State.
Anderson won three events in AU's 139-91 victory over Findlay, 194-89 win over Hillsdale and 176-120 triumph over Wayne State. She finished first in the 100 butterfly (57.45) against Findlay and the 100 breaststroke (1:06.61) and 200 IM (2:11.53) against Hillsdale and Wayne State. She was also on the winning 400 medley and freestyle relays.
At last spring's NCAA Division II national championship meet, Anderson was eighth in the 100 butterfly and was on three relays that placed in the Top 10.
Ashland's next meet will be Oct. 30 at Indianapolis.
