Veteran high school and summer travel softball coach Bob Lance is in his fourth season as a volunteer assistant coach for Ashland University's softball team.
Lance was a head high school softball coach for 21 years - 18 at nearby Norwayne High School and three at nearby Smithville High School. He won 249 games on the varsity level, and earned two Wooster Daily Record and two Northeast District Coach of the Year awards.
Lance also has coached various levels of summer travel softball for two decades, as well as serving as an assistant at the College of Wooster for two years.
A graduate of Norwayne High School, Lance lives in Creston, Ohio, with his wife, Becky.
