Ashland University's softball team will begin 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament play as the No. 2 seed, and the Eagles will start play on Friday (May 1) at noon against No. 7 seed Findlay at Marathon Diamonds in Findlay, Ohio.
AU, ranked No. 21 in Division II, finished the regular season with the best overall record in the GLIAC at 36-6 (.857), and was second in conference record at 21-5 (.808). Findlay comes into the conference tournament at 26-21, 14-12.
This will be Ashland's 14th GLIAC Tournament appearance. The program also qualified for the 2004 tourney which was rained out.
The Eagles are 24-2 in road/neutral-site games in 2015. Ashland and Findlay split a doubleheader on April 21 at Brookside Park, with AU winning 7-2 and UF taking a 7-6 decision.
