Ashland University's softball team won its final two games on its annual Florida trip, defeating Millersville (1-0) and Quincy (5-2) on Saturday (March 7) to improve to 11-1 on the season.

Against Millersville, the Eagles scored the game's lone run in the bottom of the first inning on an RBI double by senior Jerrica Young. Another senior, Amber McDermott, made that run stand up by tossing a complete-game four-hit shutout with two walks and two strikeouts.

McDermott finished the spring trip with a 4-0 record and a 0.64 earned run average.

The win against Quincy featured another complete-game four-hitter, this one from junior Brittany Flanigan. Flanigan allowed two runs and four walks while striking out four.

Young was 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI, and junior Jen Moore was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI.

The Eagles will bring a six-game winning streak back to Ohio, and are scheduled to return to the field on March 14 at 1 p.m. in a doubleheader at Cedarville.
