AU Softball Moves To 4-0 Florida Start

Ashland University's softball team has won two games for the second day in a row, moving to 4-0 on the young 2015 season after wins on Monday (March 2) against Wheeling Jesuit (5-3) and Southern New Hampshire (2-1) in Clermont, Fla.

In the win against Wheeling Jesuit, junior first baseman Jen Moore was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs, junior third baseman Kayla Prokopakis was 2-for-4 with an RBI and sophomore second baseman Kalene Freshour was 2-for-3.

Senior pitcher McKenna Galloway earned the win in relief, striking out two and allowing seven hits and two runs over 4 1/3 innings. Junior Brittany Flanigan got the last two outs for the save.

The victory against Southern New Hampshire saw Flanigan author a complete-game four-hitter with four strikeouts. Flanigan allowed two walks and no earned runs.

Senior shortstop Jamie Weber was 2-for-2 in Ashland's seven-hit attack.

The Eagles will continue play in Clermont on Tuesday (March 3) in a doubleheader against Lewis beginning at 9 a.m.
