Ashland University senior third baseman Alyssa Kelley (Mentor, Ohio) has been named this week?s GLIAC player of the week. The conference office made the announcement today.
Kelley led the Eagles (21-5) to a 7-1 record last week. AU opened GLIAC play by going 5-1. In eight games last week, Kelley led the team in batting average (.593), slugging percentage (.741) and on-base percentage (.633). Kelley drove in the winning run with a 10th-inning single as AU nipped Saginaw Valley State, 3-2 last Saturday. Kelley leads the Eagles in batting average (.453), doubles (10), hits (39) and on-base percentage (.515). She?s tied for the team lead in runs (23).
Ashland has won 14 of its last 15 games. AU will host Tiffin on Wednesday (Mar. 28) in a GLIAC doubleheader.
