At Ashland: Garver is a two-time All-GLIAC second team pick. She’s been one of AU’s best clutch hitters over the last two seasons and she provides power from the middle of the order. The coaching staff raves about her ability to call a game behind the plate and Garver’s defensive skills have been outstanding since she took over as the starter as a freshman. In 2011, Garver tied for fifth on the team in RBI and she was third in doubles. She tied for third on the team in homers. She played in 51 games and started 45 times. Garver has been a workhorse behind the plate for two years and the main concern is keeping her fresh for the season’s stretch run. As a freshman, Garver was ninth in the conference in home runs. She tied for second on the team in homers and was third in RBI. She had the second highest slugging percentage (.512) on the team. Her work behind the plate was outstanding, she had two errors in 46 games. In the postseason, Garver was one of Ashland’s best hitters.
High School: Garver was a three-time, first team all-conference selection. She was named first team All-Northeast District twice and was named honorable mention All-Ohio. Garver played on a Hillsdale team that won three league titles and advanced to the state Final Four.
Personal: Garver’s parents are Tim and Arlene Garver. Garver is an exercise science major.
