Eagle Men Cruise To Non-Conference Win At West Liberty

Ashland University's men's tennis won a convincing road match at West Liberty on Wednesday (April 17), 4-1.

The Eagles were playing in one of their final two tune-up matches before the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

AU won two doubles matches to earn the early lead, and was dominant with three more wins in singles play to beat the Hilltoppers.

At No. 2 doubles, junior Priyank Soni and senior Stanislaw Grzeslo won their match 6-2, and at No. 3 doubles, the freshman duo of Tche Kun Teng and Colten Clark also won 6-2.

The Eagles won with ease in all completed singles matches. Freshman Stuart Brdicka won in straight sets at No. 2, 6-4, 6-1. Teng also won, only dropping four games in his 6-3, 6-1 win. Grzeslo nearly had two bagels in his 6-1, 6-0 straight sets win at No. 6.

Ashland will play in its final match of the regular season at Cedarville on Tuesday (April 23) at 3 p.m.
