In its final fall tournament of 2018, Ashland University's men's golf team finished Round 1 and played Round 2 of the Motor City Invitational on Monday (Oct. 15) at TPC Michigan in Dearborn, Mich.
The Eagles were 10th in the 19-team field, finishing at 315-325—640. Findlay was the team champion (297-313—610), followed by Bellarmine (312-300—612) and two of the host Wayne State squads (311-305—616 and 307-314—621).
Leading the Ashland charge was sophomore Ben Jones, whose 75-83—158 tournament put him in a tie for 30th place individually. Both senior Austin Kondratick (82-78—160) and junior Patrick Steffen (79-81—160) were right behind, each placing in a tie for 35th.
Ashland's men will begin the 2019 spring championship season on March 16-17 at the Saginaw Valley State University Spring Invitational in Georgetown, Ky.
