2011: Janse played and started in four games for Ashland last season… the midfielder posted one goal on two shots on goal.

High School/College: Janse played his prep career at Wellington College in his hometown of Wellington, New Zealand… he also lettered in cross country and track and field… he is a transfer from Roanoke (Va.) College, where he scored five goals and recorded two assists in two years (2008-09) with the Maroons… he holds the 400 meter indoor track record at Roanoke.

 Personal: Zaan is the son of Wayne and Susan… he was born Jan. 28, 1989 and has three brothers and two sisters… Zaan is an exercise science major… he will also compete in the AU track and field program.

 Coach Freeman’s Comment: “Zaan is athletic, fast and has a great engine. His pace combined with his aggression makes him a handful to deal with. He is the best athlete in the incoming class with pace and tenacity to spare.”
