Eagles Hold At No. 7 In NABC Coaches' Poll

The Ashland University men's basketball team held steady in the No. 7 spot in the latest release of the NABC Division II coaches' poll on Tuesday (Jan. 29) afternoon.

The Eagles (18-1, 10-1 GLIAC) are coming off a thrilling 63-61 road win at Wayne State in which redshirt-senior guard Ben Haraway hit a game-winning jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining.

Ashland has won five straight games since its only loss of the season on Jan. 10 at Parkside.

This is the seventh straight poll the Eagles have been ranked in the top 25.

The Eagles, in their 10th season under head coach John Ellenwood, maintain the third-stingiest scoring defense in the country, allowing just 60.5 points per game.

The Eagles have a challenging stretch of games upcoming with the GLIAC's second-place team Davenport paying a visit to Kates Gymnasium on Thursday (Jan. 31) at 7:30 p.m. Grand Valley State follows on Saturday (Feb. 2) at 3 p.m. Ashland will then trek to Ferris State and Lake Superior State, two of the top teams in the GLIAC North.
