Eagles Ranked 23rd In Lindy’s Preseason D-II Football Poll

Ashland University's first football game of the 2015 season is 92 days away, but the Eagles already are getting some attention.

AU is ranked No. 23 in the 2015 Lindy's Division II Preseason Top 25 Poll. The poll was published in Lindy's 2015 National College Football Preview magazine.

The Eagles were 8-2 overall and in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2014. They return sophomore quarterback Travis Tarnowski, the reigning GLIAC Freshman of the Year who threw for 2,167 yards and 16 touchdowns in starting all 10 games as a redshirt freshman.

Ashland returns 11 starters – five on offense and six on defense.

Other GLIAC teams in the poll include Ferris State (No. 10), Ohio Dominican (No. 12), Michigan Tech (No. 18) and Grand Valley State (No. 20).

Minnesota State is No. 1 in the Lindy's poll. Last season's national champion, Colorado State-Pueblo, is ranked No. 15.
