Women's Golf Takes Second at Great Midwest Championships, Follows Behind Findlay

The Eagles Put up a Valiant Effort Out on the Links, but Came up Just Short

Growth is important.

And throughout the 2026 campaign, the Ashland University women's golf team has continued to showcase just that.

On Thursday, April 16, and Friday, April 17, the Eagles competed in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference championships at the Belterra Golf Club, finishing in second place overall. The team that beat them in the medal round was the University of Findlay Oilers, who won, taking four of the five medal matches.

In the medal round, the Eagles' best showings came from Zoe Mort, who posted a 74, in a one-stroke loss to Findlay's Ellie Yeazell, and Anna Machamer, who tied Findlay's Emma Myers at 75.

Prior to the medal matches, the Eagles were led by Mort in the third round who finished sixth (222), LeeAnn Harker tied for eighth (228), Machamer and Gracyn Vidovic tied for 11th (232) and Klaira Paramore who tied for 14th.

The Eagles' really strong finish to the regular season and the G-MAC championships set them up nicely to put together a respectable run in the NCAA Regionals, which is set to take place on Monday, May 4, in Findlay, Ohio.
