No. 9 Eagles Rout Panthers In 2025-26 Home Opener

In an hour-long match in front of an impressive Youth Night crowd at Kates Gymnasium, the No. 9-ranked Ashland University wrestling team routed Davenport, 43-3.
 
The Great Midwest Athletic Conference victory moves the Eagles to 5-5 overall and 3-0 in the league. The Panthers are 1-3, 1-3.
 
Ashland won eight of the nine matches on the night, and all of them in impressive fashion.
 
Eagle pins on Friday night were earned by sophomore Rylen Campbell at 141 pounds (2:29 over Shawn McGuire), redshirt freshman Fernando Lopez at 157 pounds (3:39 over Brody Orcutt), and No. 7-ranked senior 285-pounder Wyatt Bailey at 285 pounds (4:17 over Andrew Dupree).
 
Ashland also had five technical falls among its eight victories:

• Sophomore Donovan Paes 16-0 over Roan Cooper at 133 pounds.
• No. 3-ranked junior 149-pounder Hayden Kuhn 16-1 over Buddy Leonard.
• No. 2-ranked senior 174-pounder Sevriano Garza 17-2 over Cody Ueberroth.
• No. 14-ranked redshirt freshman 184-pounder Fletcher Rose 18-2 over Ethan Ramsey.
• No. 8-ranked junior 197-pounder Peyton Lemon 21-6 over Evan Wakefield.
