Ashland University's women's golf team was in contention for a championship throughout Sunday's second and final round of Ohio Dominican's Champions of Women's Golf, but the Eagles ultimately finished in second place in the 15-team field.
Finishing Sunday with a field-best team score of 302, Ashland's 309-302—611 was three strokes behind team medalist Tiffin (303-305—608).
Charleston finished third at 317-307—624.
Sophomore
Dakota Riley was the Eagles' top finisher, placing in a tie for eighth individually at 76-76—152 and with three birdies. Ashland had three top-10 finishers, as junior
LeeAnn Harker (75-78—153, six birdies, five birdies in a six-hole stretch on Sunday) and senior
Klaira Paramore (81-72—153, five birdies) each were tied for 10
th.
Another sophomore,
Sammi Miller, tied for 15
th (79-76—155, one birdie). Freshman
Anna Machamer tied for 19
th (79-78—157, two birdies), and junior
Riley McKenzie took 23
rd (80-78—158, one birdie).
Playing as an individual was sophomore
