Eagle Women Open Play At East Regional

The NCAA Division II East Regional women's golf tournament began on Monday (May 5), and Ashland University started postseason play in 17th place among the 18-team field through the first 18 holes.
 
Playing the first round at The Meadows at Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich., the Eagles ended with a team score of 330. The top five teams advance to D-II nationals, and through Monday, they are Grand Valley State (290), Findlay (296), Tiffin and Indianapolis (306 each), and Missouri-St. Louis (312).
 
Junior Klaira Paramore is tied for 50th individually after Day 1 (81, one birdie).
 
Ashland's four other players all are tied for 71st with matching 83s – sophomore Riley McKenzie (two birdies), senior Grace Grant and sophomore LeeAnn Harker (one birdie each), and senior Emma Conway (83).
