Mother Nature was the winner of the Eagle Invitational on Tuesday (Sept. 24), as the second round at the Ashland Golf Club was canceled due to heavy rain which came through town in the morning.
Ashland University's women's golf team finished second in the 14-team field after its score of 311 on Monday (Sept. 23). Glenville State is the team titlist with a 308.
Sophomore
LeeAnn Harker is the tournament's individual medalist after shooting a 75 on Monday. She had a stretch of three birdies in four holes to start the back nine.
The Eagles finish with three players in the top five of the individual leader board. Senior
Grace Grant tied for second with a 76 (one birdie), while senior
Emma Conway tied for fifth after an opening 77 (two birdies).
Harker, Grant and Conway all made the all-tournament team.
Rounding out the Gold squad's showing on Monday were junior
Klaira Paramore (83, tied for 21
st), sophomore
Riley McKenzie (85, tied for 29
th, one birdies), and freshman
Dakota Riley (86, tied for 35
th).
Ashland's Purple team finished seventh in the 14-team field after recording a 341. Senior
Alyson Veverka led the way on Day 1 with an 81 (tied for 15
th).
