Ashland University's men's golf team ended the 2022 fall season on a very strong note on Sunday (Oct. 30), as the Eagles tied for third place as a team, and freshman
Carter Mishler tied for second individually, at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invite.
WHAT HAPPENED
- Ashland's second-round 286 was the second-best team score in the field on Sunday, and the Eagles' 298-286—584 finish was bested only by McKendree (273-292—565) and Southern Indiana (282-283—565). Davenport (296-288—584) tied AU for third place.
- Mishler was one shot back of individual medalist Steven Sanicki of Parkside (69-70—139), and finished at 68-72—140. Mishler had three birdies on Sunday, and ended the fall with a scoring average of 73.0.
- Sophomore Tyler Gillespie was next in line for AU, tying for 17th place at 75-71—146 and recording two Sunday birdies. Fellow sophomore Matthew McMullen tied for 26th at 77-72—149, and he had four Sunday birdies, including three in a four-hole stretch on the front nine.
- Senior Logan Thomas had five birdies on Sunday, all in an eight-hole stretch, and finished in a tie for 29th at 79-71—150, while senior Andrew Kolar tied for 42nd at 78-77—155 and had two Sunday birdies.
