Mishler’s 68 Leads Eagle Men To Fifth-Place Start At Kentucky Wesleyan

Freshman Carter Mishler's opening-round 68 helped Ashland University's men's golf team to a fifth-place start on Saturday (Oct. 29) at the Kentucky Wesleyan Fall Invitational.
 
WHAT HAPPENED
  • Mishler's career-low round on Saturday featured an eagle on hole No. 14, and three birdies. He is tied for third place individually, three shots behind McKendree's Griffin St. Pierre, who fired a 7-under-par 65.
  • The Eagles' team score of 298 was bested in the first round only by McKendree (273), Southern Indiana (282), Parkside (295) and Davenport (296).
  • Sophomore Tyler Gillespie carded a 75 on Saturday and is tied for 26th. He had three birdies on the first round.
  • Another sophomore, Matthew McMullen, had a 77 and two birdies, and is tied for 42nd. Senior Andrew Kolar ended with a 78 and two birdies and in a tie for 48th, while senior Logan Thomas had a 79, an eagle on No. 14 and three birdies, and is tied for 57th.
