The Ashland University Fortnite duo of junior Alec Mueller and freshman River Daunhauer won the first AVGL Collegiate Fortnite event of the semester last Saturday (Feb. 10).
Mueller and Daunhauer, who have competed with each other all year as a Fortnite duo, toppled teams from Florida State, Illinois Institute of Technology, the University of Western Ontario and UNC-Charlotte in the preliminary rounds.
In the finals, the duo knocked off the University of Georgia in consecutive battles to claim the overall championship.
The total field for the event consisted of 23 teams.
