Eagles Fall to Laker Netters 8-1

The Ashland University women's tennis team trudged its way through the snow and played a match indoors on Saturday (Feb. 21) afternoon against the Mercyhurst Lakers.

The Eagles lost the match, 8-1, in their first action back from the fall season.

The lone Eagle victory came from Daniela Alves, who won her fourth singles match, 6-4, 2-6, 10-6.

AU almost found another victory from its second doubles, as Sally Trout and Kendal Stephens forced an extra set, eventually falling, 9-8, 7-5.

The Eagles will next compete at Oberlin College on Wednesday (Feb. 25) at 6:30 p.m.
