This Week (And A Day) In #EagleNation – A New No. 1?

Ashland University's women's basketball team will play three games in the final six days before the NCAA's "dead period," and most likely will do so as the top-ranked team in Division II.

The Eagles (10-0, 4-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) could be the No. 1-ranked team in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Top 25 poll, to be released on Tuesday (Dec. 13), after previous No. 1 Emporia State's loss at Fort Hays State over the weekend. It would be the first time Ashland would be atop the poll since the final 2013 ranking following the program's national championship.
