Baum Races to Another First Place Finish

The Ashland University cross country team traveled to East Lansing, Mich. today (Friday, September 12) to compete in the Michigan State University Spartan Invitational. 

Senior Brian Baum finished first (24:36) of the 371 runners this afternoon.  Competition included Division I schools such as Michigan State and Eastern Michigan.

Two other Eagles finished the race in the top 25. Nick Hall crossed the finish line with a time of 24:45 and Isaac Potes completed the event in 25:16. 

This is the second straight race Baum has won this season.

For the women, Delainey Phelps was the first to finish for Ashland. She placed 16th with a time of 22:07.  Kylie Bernthisel was the next Eagle finisher, crossing 23:28. She finished 70th in a field of 307.

Ashland's next race is October 3 at the All-Ohio Championships in Cedarville, Ohio.
