The Ashland University volleyball team is ranked No. 7 in the first release of the NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings issued on Wednesday (Oct. 24) afternoon.
The Eagles (21-5) are looking to get back to their second NCAA Tournament in the last three years and fourth in eight seasons.
The top eight teams in the Midwest Region rankings will qualify for the NCAA Tournament with automatic bids going to the winners of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic, Great Lakes Valley and Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournaments.
Ashland is currently riding a five-match winning streak, including a sweep of Salem on Tuesday (Oct. 23). The run started with key in-region wins against McKendree and Hillsdale at the Midwest Region Crossover.
The Eagles are in their first season under head coach Kevin Foeman.
The Eagles welcome Parkside to Kates Gymnasium on Friday (Oct. 26) at 7 p.m. for Senior Night. It will be AU's first home match since Sept. 29.
