Continuing its spring break trip in South Carolina on Thursday (March 9), Ashland University's women's tennis team fell to both Chowan (6-3) and Coastal Carolina (9-0).
Eagle head coach Lexi Bolesky continues to like the strides made by her young team.
"I am proud and honored to coach this wonderful group of girls," Bolesky said. "Through adversity, they continue to show resiliency, and compete with desire. We are especially excited to see how far our doubles strategy has come, and look to continue putting our best effort and attitude forward.
"It was a great opportunity to play against a strong, well-coached Coastal Carolina team. We as a whole will learn a lot from this match."
In the loss against Chowan, freshman Brianna Brdicka won 6-1, 4-5 (ret.) in second singles, and Ashland earned a pair of doubles victories – Brdicka and senior Meghann Fitzpatrick (8-4) at first doubles and freshman Allison Brooks and sophomore Kaitlin Snyder (8-6) in third doubles.
UP NEXT: The end of the South Carolina trip on Friday (March 10) at 10 a.m. vs. Palm Beach Atlantic.
