Senior forward Morgan Bittengle was named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks the league office announced on Monday (Oct. 16) afternoon.
Bittengle scored four goals last week, including a hat trick, to help the Eagles to a 2-0 record at Michigan Tech and Northern Michigan.
She was also named the GLIAC Player of the Week on Oct. 3. It is her third career weekly honor.
On Friday against the Huskies, Bittengle scored the Eagles' second goal of the first half and it proved to be the difference as AU finished off a 2-1 win in Houghton, Mich.
She followed that up with her second career hat trick on Sunday in a 4-1 win over Northern Michigan. Bittengle scored once in the first half and added two more in the second half as the Eagles built a 4-0 lead on the Wildcats.
Bittengle has now scored eight goals in the last seven games, almost directly coinciding with a terrific stretch for the Eagles (9-4-1, 6-1 GLIAC), who have won seven of their last eight.
Bittengle ranks third on AU's all-time scoring list with 45 career goals.
The Eagles start a three-game homestand to close the regular season on Friday (Oct. 17) when they play host to Saginaw Valley State at 7 p.m.
