Three Ashland Wrestlers Place First At Findlay Open


Three of 18 Ashland University wrestlers won their bracket on Saturday (Nov. 19) at the Findlay Open, and four others placed.

Eagles redshirt senior Michael Labry (133 pounds) won four matches by decision and one in a tiebreaker in route to taking home his second first-place finish in the early part of this year's wrestling season.

AU redshirt junior Luke Cramer (197) earned a first-round bye, and then went on to win two matches by major decision and two matches by decision to earn first in his bracket.

Ashland sophomore Colton Ullman (157) won once by fall, twice by decision, once in a tiebreaker and once in a major decision in order to place first as well.

Eagles sophomore Jerry Fenner III (133) earned third, freshman Garrett Hall (157) got eighth, redshirt freshman Bret Romanzak (165) placed eighth and senior Brenden Stanley (174) also earned eighth.

UP NEXT: Ashland will travel to take on Pitt-Johnstown for a dual at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2.
