Ashland University junior Michael Labry continues to rank among the top wrestlers in Division II, according to rankings released this week by the NCAA.
Labry, 35-1 with nine pins so far in 2014-15, is fourth in the country in this week's Most Dominant Wrestler standings. A two-time All-American and the second-ranked wrestler in the country at 133 pounds, Labry has 4.5 points, only trailing Colorado Mesa 157-pounder James Martinez (4.88), St. Cloud State 285-pounder Austin Goergen (4.63) and Central Oklahoma 165-pounder Chris Watson (4.59).
The NCAA Most Dominant Wrestler standings are calculated by adding the total number of points awarded through match results, and dividing that number by the total number of matches wrestled.
Ashland's wrestling team will compete at the NCAA Division II Super Regional II on Feb. 27-28 in Pembroke, N.C. Going into the regional meet, Labry is 105-10 (.913) as an Eagle.
