The 2016-17 season has been over for more than three weeks, but Ashland University head women's basketball coach Robyn Fralick continues to garner postseason awards.
On Sunday (April 16), Fralick was named the Columbus Dispatch Women's Ohio College Basketball Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season. The award is voted on coaches around the state.
Fralick led the Eagles to the 2017 NCAA Division II national championship and D-II women's basketball's first 37-0 finish. Also in 2016-17, Ashland won Midwest Regional tournament, Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament, GLIAC regular-season and GLIAC South Division titles.
In addition to the Dispatch honor, Fralick also has earned Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Division II National, Division II Basketball Bulletin National and GLIAC, and GLIAC Coach of the Year laurels this season.
Fralick is 68-2 (.971) in two seasons leading the Eagles.
