AU’s Snyder Earns Second Straight GLIAC South Honor

Ashland University junior forward/center Laina Snyder has earned her second consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week award, and her sixth overall.

In wins at Gannon on Wednesday (Nov. 23), and at home against Slippery Rock on Saturday (Nov. 26) and Mercyhurst on Sunday (Nov. 27), Snyder collected 52 points, 36 rebounds, nine assists, four blocks and seven steals while hitting 24-of-39 (61.5 percent) from the field and 4-of-5 (80 percent) from the free-throw line.

Through three weeks of the 2016-17 season, Snyder is second in the GLIAC in points per game (17.8), and leads the conference at 11.7 rebounds and 3.8 steals per contest.
