For the first time in 2016-17 and the fifth time in her Eagle career, Ashland University junior forward/center Laina Snyder is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week.
In an 88-66 regional home win over Indianapolis on Saturday (Nov. 19), Snyder posted 29 points, 14 rebounds, six steals, three blocks and two assists while shooting 14-of-22 from the field in 27 minutes of action.
In three games this season for the No. 5-ranked Eagles, Snyder is averaging 18.3 points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 5.3 steals per game while shooting 53.1 percent from the field. Earlier this season, she became the 18th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points, and with 1,035 points, Snyder is 14 away from passing Lisa Graue (1,048) for 17th on AU's all-time list.
