What will the Eagle men and women do for an encore in their last action for five weeks, Friday (Dec. 7) at Youngstown State and Saturday (Dec. 8) at Findlay?

    Three Ashland University indoor track and field athletes have garnered Week 1 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors. Redshirt freshman Lindsay Baker is the Women’s Field Athlete of the Week, junior Gariana Bercheni is the Women’s Track Athlete of the Week, and senior Jim Toth is the Men’s Field Athlete of the Week, following their efforts on Saturday (Dec. 1) at the Tiffin Alumni Open.

    The first “Fab Five” was the University of Michigan men’s basketball recruiting class of 1991, led by Chris Webber. Ashland University head track and field coach Jud Logan dubbed his five women’s freshman throwers with the same moniker last season while they were redshirting for this season. As it turns out, Eagle track and field has two Fab Fives, and this quintet is the group of sophomore sprinters made up of Trevor Bassitt, T.J. Elliott, Channing Phillips, Brenden Archer and Kainnan Ramsey.
  • Eagles To Start Indoor Campaign At Tiffin Alumni Open

    On Thursday (Nov. 29) night, Ashland University’s men’s outdoor track and field team will be honored for its second-place NCAA Division II nationals finish, at halftime of the Eagle men’s basketball game at Kates Gymnasium. On Saturday (Dec. 1) afternoon, it will be time to turn the page, as the 2018-19 indoor track and field season for the Eagle men and women will begin at noon at the Tiffin Alumni Open.

    On Saturday (Aug. 11), at the 2018 North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) Track & Field Championships at Varsity Stadium in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, former Ashland University All-American Katie Nageotte set a new meet record and tied a lifetime outdoor best in earning a gold medal in the women’s pole vault.

    Ashland University assistant track and field coach for sprints and hurdles, Ernie Clark, has been elevated to the program’s associate head coach position, Eagle head coach Jud Logan announced on Monday (July 9).
