The No. 1-ranked Ashland University men's indoor track and field team made a little more history on Day 2 of the 2017 NCAA Division II Championships on Friday (March 10) in Birmingham, Ala., as the distance medley relay set a new school record and finished sixth overall.
That DMR finish allowed the Eagle men to stay in the hunt for their first team national championship. Ashland has 24 team points and is in second place after two days, while Tiffin is in first with 32.
Sophomore Myles Pringle finished fifth in the men's 200-meter dash preliminaries (21.38), advancing to Saturday's (March 11) finals.
Both Pringle (high jump) and freshman Amber Otermat (pole vault) competed in field events on Friday, but didn't record a height.
