Ashland University Strength & Conditioning Coach A.G. Kruger competed in the pre-Memorial Day Tucson Elite Classic in Tucson, Ariz., in the hammer throw.
Kruger, a three-time United States Olympian in the hammer throw, won the event on Saturday (May 23) thanks to a first-throw mark of 75.62 meters/248-feet-1. On Thursday (May 21), Kruger was second with a top throw of 75.34 meters/247-feet-2, occurring on his second attempt.
Kruger, who is training for a spot on Team USA in the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, will compete in the 2015 Ashland Summer Series, set for June 4-5 at Ferguson Field. The hammer throw will be June 5.
