Bjelac Second Halfway Through Heptathlon In S.C.

Senior Jennifer Bjelac is in second place through Thursday's (March 19) action in the women's heptathlon at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Bjelac has 2,800 points through the 100-meter hurdles, shot put, high jump and 200-meter dash. Freshman Marie Hammer is 11th through Day 1 with 2,391 points.

On Friday (March 20), the heptathlon will be completed with the long jump, javelin and 800-meter run.

In the men's decathlon, freshman Lucas Ball is eighth with 1,699 points through the 100-meter dash, long jump, shot put, high jump and 400-meter dash. Friday will be the 110-meter hurdles, discus, pole vault, javelin and 1,500-meter run.

Also on Friday, the following Eagles are slated to compete:

Women's 400-meter dash – Tiarra Kick, Mary Hitchcock and Sam Birchall.

Men's 400-meter dash – Halen Witcher and Columbus Millet.

Men's 400-meter hurdles – William Robinson.

Women's 100-meter dash – Joyce Badertscher, Shelby Jordan and Lydia Ott.

Men's 100-meter dash – Eric Thompkins, Jamie Hence and Brandon Freeman.

Women's 4x200-meter relay – Abigail Shafer, Isabella Stoll, Birchall and Kick, and Abby Strock, Badertscher, Ott and Hitchcock.

Women's 100-meter hurdles – Haley Gregory and Victoria Beverly.

Men's 110-meter hurdles – Elijha Owens.

Men's javelin throw – Sam Shaffer, Elliott Kreim and Clay Smalley.

Women's high jump – Rebecca Koval, Jennifer Foster, Shafer and Hannah Bartlome.
