Ashland University's men's distance medley relay team and sophomore Megan Tomei have earned this week's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference weekly honors in men's track and women's field, respectively.
The Eagle DMR team of seniors Drew Windle, Joshua Davis and Elijha Owens and junior Nick Hall took first place at the Ohio State Buckeye Tune-Up on Friday (Feb. 20) with a track size venue conversion-adjusted time of 9:52.37, which is the fifth-best time in Division II this season.
Tomei won the shot put at OSU on Friday, turning in a top effort of 52-feet-2, which also is No. 5 on the Division II national list to date.
Ashland's indoor track and field teams (women ranked No. 1 in the country and men ranked No. 2) will compete at the GLIAC Championships on Feb. 28 and March 1.
