AU Coaches Win Titles At National Meet

Ashland University coaches A.G. Kruger and Grey Horn won championships over the weekend at the 2014 USATF Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, N.M.

Kruger, AU's strength and conditioning coach, finished first in the weight throw. His best effort measured 77-9.25. That easily out-distanced J.C. Lambert, who was second (75-7.50). Kruger has won USATF championships 13 times. He has eight indoor crowns and five outdoors.

Horn, an assistant track and field coach, placed first in the heptathlon with 6071 points. Jeff Mohl was second with 5746 points.

Former AU thrower Kurt Roberts also had a good weekend. He was second in the shot put. Roberts wrapped up second place at 70-6.50. Ryan Whiting won the event at 72-11.25.
