AU Softball Maintains No. 3 Spot In Midwest Region

Ashland University's softball team has maintained its No. 3 spot in the Midwest Region, as the third round of 2015 NCAA Division II regional rankings were released on Wednesday (April 29).

The top eight teams in each region play in the NCAA postseason. There was just one change in the top eight this week – Grand Valley State (fifth) and Trevecca Nazarene (sixth) switching spots.

Earlier on Wednesday, the Eagles, 36-6 overall, found out they are ranked a season-best No. 20 in this week's National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll.

AU is the No. 2 seed in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament, and its first opponent will be Findlay on Friday (May 1) at noon at Marathon Diamonds in Findlay, Ohio.
