Ashland University center fielder Taylor Menhart has been named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Midwest Region First Team.
This is the second all-region team Menhart has made this year. She was also named to the Daktronics, Inc., Midwest Region First Team.
The junior is now on two All-America ballots. The NFCA team is picked by coaches from around the country. The Daktronics Team is selected by sports information directors from around the nation.
Menhart is a three-year starter. This season, she was named First Team All-GLIAC for the first time in her career.
Menhart hit a team-high .432 with 16 doubles, three homers and 23 RBI. She also led the Eagles in slugging percentage (.603) and on-base percentage (.488). She was 8-for-8 in stolen base attempts. No one swiped more bases for AU this season than Menhart.
AU finished the season 27-20 and advanced to the NCAA postseason for the sixth consecutive season.
