Ashland University junior Emlyn Knerem (Brunswick, Ohio) has been named the GLIAC pitcher of the week. The conference office made the announcement on Tuesday, Apr. 12.
Knerem pitched a five-inning perfect game last week at Ohio Dominican. That was her third, five-inning perfect game of the season. In her career, Knerem has five no-hitters and four five-inning perfect games. Knerem's latest perfect game came in the first game of a doubleheader at ODU. In the second game, she pitched a perfect seventh inning to gain the win.
Knerem is 15-3 with a 1.33 ERA. She has completed 15 of 18 starting assignments and has 178 strikeouts in 115.2 innings of work. Knerem is seventh in the nation in strikeouts per seven innings (10.8) and 13th in shutouts (seven).
Ashland is 21-9 and 13-1 in the GLIAC. The Eagles are in first place in the GLIAC South Division.
