ASHLAND, Ohio – The AU men's soccer team had two players named to the Daktronics All-Midwest Region teams, which were selected by the region's sports information directors.

Senior wing Kenny Hewitt (London, England/Longhill) was named to the All-Midwest Region first team for the first time in his career. Last year, Hewitt was a second team performer. He is now eligible for the Daktronics All-America teams, which will be announced in late November. Also, junior sweeper Jamie Dollar (Perrysburg, Ohio) was picked to the all-region second team for the second straight year.

After Hewitt was named to the All-GLIAC first team for the second straight season, he was picked to the All-Midwest Region first team. Hewitt was a member of three straight GLIAC regular season championship teams that also advanced to the NCAA Tournament all three years.

This season, he led the GLIAC with seven assists and had a team-high six goals. A co-captain the last two seasons, Hewitt ranks second on AU's all-time assists list with 25 in his career. He is also tied for fourth on the all-time points list with 57. His six goals and 19 points were career highs. On Sept. 11, he assisted on all three goals in AU's 3-1 win over Findlay, and in early October, Hewitt scored a goal in three consecutive games. He finished his career with a two-goal performance in a 4-1 over the Oilers.

Dollar, an All-GLIAC first team selection for the second straight season, was named to the All-Midwest Region second team. Dollar was a threat on set pieces and finished the year with four goals, despite his position as the sweeper on the back line. He scored the first two goals of the season for AU, including the game-winner in a 1-0 win over Slippery Rock in the season opener. Dollar scored both goals in Ashland's 2-1 win over Ohio Dominican on Oct. 20.

The Eagles were 6-9-3 overall, including a 4-6-2 mark in the GLIAC under the direction of second-year head coach Jon Freeman.
