AU Men Finish Seventh At Motor City Invite

On the second and final day of the Motor City Invitational on Monday (Oct. 17), Ashland University's men's golf team moved up one spot and finished seventh in the 15-team field.

The Eagles ended at 319-310—629. Grand Valley State (294-303—597) won the event, followed by Saginaw Valley State (304-296—600) and Bellarmine (305-295—600).

Sophomore Austin Kondratick followed a first-round 78 with a second-round 74, and finished in a tie for 14th place individually. Sophomore Frank Steffen ended at 78-77—155 and in a tie for 24th.

Rounding out the Eagle field were freshmen Patrick Steffen (77-80—158) and Luke Dorman (86-79—165), and junior Chandler Walnsch (92-80—172).

UP NEXT: The Eagles will finish the 2016 fall season on Oct. 30-Nov. 1 at the Trevecca Nazarene Fall Invitational.
