Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at NCAA Event

            The Ashland University men's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place Monday (Apr. 9) at the Great Lakes Regional #4 Tournament in Noblesville, Ind.  AU began the day in second place, one shot behind eventual champ Tiffin.

            The Dragons wrapped up the team title Monday, shooting 306. For the two days, Tiffin had a team score of 607.  Northwood (608) was second and Northern Kentucky and Findlay shot 610 to share third place.  AU and Ferris State finished at 619 in fifth place.  The Eagles had a team score of 317 on Monday.

            Senior Jay Overy (Grafton, Ohio/Midview) led the Eagles by finishing in a tie for fourth place. Overy shot 150.  Northern Kentucky's Jones Brown was the medalist at 145. AU junior Brendan Jenkins (Dublin, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) shot 153 and finished in a tie for 12th.
