For the first time in 2016-17 and the second time in his Eagle career, Ashland University senior guard Boo Osborne is the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference South Division Player of the Week, as announced on Monday (Jan. 2) afternoon.
In a 94-56 win over Thiel on Friday (Dec. 30) night at Kates Gymnasium, Osborne turned in a season-high 15 points and a career-high-tying 11 rebounds for his first double-double of the season. He added four assists, and was 5-for-7 from the field, 2-for-2 from 3-point range and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Osborne earned his first GLIAC South honor on Jan. 4, 2016.
In 12 games in 2016-17, Osborne is averaging 9.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game, while hitting 71.7 percent from the foul line.
Ashland (7-5 overall, 2-4 GLIAC) will return to conference play on Thursday (Jan. 5) at 7:30 p.m. at home against Michigan Tech (5-7, 3-2). It will be Church Night at "The Kates."
