    This Week In #EagleNation – Seasons Converging Again In collegiate athletic circles, it’s called the “crossover season.” This week in Ashland University, the continuation of the 2016-17 winter season and the continued ramp-up of the 2017 spring campaign is yet another big stretch – highlighted by the Eagle wrestlers competing at super regionals, the AU indoor track and field teams traveling to the conference meet and the Ashland women’s basketball team trying to accomplish something that hasn’t been done in a half-century of play.

    AU Baseball Picked To Finish Third In GLIAC Preseason Poll In the 2017 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Preseason Coaches’ Poll released on Tuesday (Feb. 7) afternoon, Ashland University’s baseball team was picked to finish third in the 11-team league.

    Sorma, Myers Gain CBN Pre-Season All-American Status Ashland University junior second baseman/shortstop/outfielder J.P. Sorma and senior third baseman/first baseman Lance Myers have earned Midwest Region Pre-Season All-American status from College Baseball Newspaper.

    Eagle Quartet In 2016 Ashland County Sports Hall Class Four Ashland College/University athletics standouts, including current AU head baseball coach John Schaly and recently retired AU head women’s tennis coach Carl Leedy, are a part of the 2016 Ashland County Sports Hall of Fame class. Joining Schaly and Leedy as the latest members of the ACSHOF are Gil Dodds (cross country/track and field) and Duane Yoder (football).
